I have an amazing daughter!

I read Jenny's blogs and I am in awe at her ability to express herself. It has always been one of her many gifts. She is a joy to me.

May I write awhile on the eternal and lasting joy of having children. I know it isn't a terribly popular pastime for some people, but as I spend time with my grown children I am so grateful they are a part of my life. Who knew that these five little children all under the age of seven would turn out to be the people I most like to spend time with? The ones I think of first to share anything with.Who knew how much fun game playing, eating, singing, shopping, comparing views on books, movies, t.v. shows would be with this incredibly varied group of people? The concept of eternal families has become real and meaningful as I watch our family grow in size and in love. I am truly a blessed person.

I just watched conference

I just watched the general conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is the most comforting thing to know that we have a prophet on earth who receives revelation from the head of this church, Jesus Christ, and by following Pres. Monson's words, we are doing what the Lord wants us to do. Now, to apply the directions.

A beginning.

It is an odd feeling, just writing for who, or what? Just writing possibly to improve my skills - computer, vocabulary, writing, all of the above. Maybe I am just journaling on line to the kind of audience that a hard copy journal would be for - myself.
I teach school and it is the beginning of June, so everyone is just a little bit restless. I have been a "first year" teacher way too many times. Because raising my own children was always my first priority, I have about nine years experience since my graduation in 1972. So once again I am a first year teacher. This time in Elementary music. And right now, at this point of the year, I just keep saying, "Next year I'll do this and this and this differently." It has been a real learning experience. Next year, I really will do a lot of things differently. What will I keep the same? I will keep the same room decor, because I don't want the work of changing all that again. I will keep the Gr. five talent show -that is a wonderful tradition that I started this year. I will keep the composer presentations. I will keep the two months(possibly one month)of 10 minute performance times. I will keep loving choir. I'll talk about changes and improvements another time. My mind won't wrap around that at the moment.
I now need to find out how to do all the kinds of things like profiles. etc.
Till next time.
